I went onto the Ibanez product website and found that this is the ONLY recommended case for the AS7312 and perhaps the only case that can ever hold that guitar throughout the universe, and that's after months of research and digging into various forums. My personal problem is that I live in a country in the tropics and 12-string guitars are rare, let alone 12-string hollow-body guitars. This made a slight conundrum because it means probably ALL music stores in this country do not carry a broad selection of guitar cases. My only legit option is to NOT EXPERIMENT and get the case recommended by Ibanez. Here's the kicker, buying the case is really a game of whack-a-mole since this case was intended for Ibanez Bass Guitars. So these cases disappear from stock FAST throughout the globe. I bought it for about $155 USD which seems to be the normal price across distributors, so if you see a spiked price, which I have seen a couple of months back (~$250 to $300), you have to decide if you will be impatient and compulsive or patient and strategic. This product tends to frequently return to stock across all distributors. So about the case, not that I had a broad set of choices:The case is a modern take on the old fashioned guitar cases. Expect lots of plastic and leather substitutes. The handle is a plastic mold, the grip for the internal compartment is also a plastic mold, the walls are made out of a durable plastic. The leather exterior is suspected to be an artificial/plastic leather. The stitching is real everywhere except on the handle, because it's a plastic mold.At a glance, the case looks great. Up close, you need to remember that this is a guitar case and literally nobody cares what it's made of.The latches are metal—possibly a type of brass—and works great. This and the hinges are made of the same metal. It seems reliable and I'm happy about it. I love how one of the 4 latches has a loop to place a lock (a lock is not provided with this product). In fact, there's brass "feet" to lay your case down flat, on it's side, and to even stand it up.Padding uses a [probably plastic based] foam. I didn't find the padding too dense, but it wasn't "too soft" neither. Definitely it is the minimum to keep a guitar safe, which I will think dips slightly below the ideal amount of padding one would want. Nevertheless, I feel like my guitar is safe in there. Padding exists at the most important locations to keep the guitar safe. This includes the entire side piece, the front and rear pieces of the case, too. The AS7312 fits snug without any concerning leeway or play to rattle around inside. In short: This padding will do it's job.The liner is an attractive blue fuzzy material, which will also add to the protection. It's probably a fuzzy polyester (at this point I'm just poking fun on how much plastic is used here). Outside of direct light, the fuzzy liner can look black/grey. I really enjoy feeling the fuzzy texture. It feels great.Specific to the Ibanez AS7312 guitar:The guitar fits well and snug in this case, as implied by Ibanez. The headstock fits with not much extra/unused space. I measure approximately 7cm/2.75inches is left above the headstock that has gone unused.Overall:The case looks great and serves it's purpose. If you've had experience with the old fashioned cases, you'll be quick to make a mental comparison, but once you realize that nobody cares about your case, you'll be fine.Future:I think the only thing that strongly disappoints me is the main handle, which is a plastic mold. You put your hands around that and the case will let you know in bold letters that it's a plastic mold. It's not "uncomfortable", but it really stands out. I think I'll wrap the handle with tape or something and that should fix my concerns. I'll probably throw a silica gel pack into the compartment, too.Five stars. I'll be happy with this product.
