This review is for the Denso 471-1638 A/C Compressor. !0/2024 The compressor is a direct fit. No issues at all. Just remember to transfer the sub wire harness attached to the clutch onto the new compressor before mounting the new compressor. Yes the compressor costs almost twice as much as other models being sold on Amazon, BUT, none of those cheaper models have the correct clutch for the Gen 4 engine. And, the Denso is as close to OEM as you can get.Unless you like shipping things back and forth, and installing, and removing compressors, stay away from those cheaper compressors. Yes the cheaper models will most likely fit, but the cheaper models do not have the proper clutch that is required on engines equipped with VCM engines. Also, do not buy into any video that shows a compressor being removed from the bottom side of a Gen 4 Odyssey. Believe this... the only way to remove a compressor from a Gen 4 is by removing the radiator for access to the compressor. Removing the radiator is straight forward and takes maybe a half an hour. Very, very easy to remove the radiator on a Gen 4 Odyssey. Heck, removing the serpentine belt is a harder job that removing the radiator. The whole job takes around 3 or 4 hours, if you have never done such a job before. The only special tool needed is a serpentine belt removal tool. Unless you own your own vacuum pump, best to have the system recharged by a professional. Good luck.
