This is one of the best & most simple headlamps i have used yet for about $30. Most wire connected battery pack headlamps are heavy & very uncomfortable to wear. This Coast is not like the others. The battery pack is slim (3 AAA integral to strap system)and does not weigh a ton. The batt cover is a rubber cap that fits very snug and can't accidently fall off. Plus when you're wearing it the cover is agains your head further preventing it from getting snagged or pulled off. The top strap band is great to keep the pack from sliding down your head, so the whole thing stays in place very well once you get it adjusted.Very brIghT! Yes very bright LEDs & good coverage. Provides big bright spot of light, does not have a focus but i like that because its one less thing to mess with. Simple push button on the lamp housing on or off.i've had one of these headlamps for a yr and really like it for camping but now i have one more reason to like it; since i've been through a tornado i bought a skateboard helmet for storm kit. Wanted to put a light on it. I used this coast and it's perfect because i was able to take off all the straps with out cutting them. & i tie-wrapped light & batt pack to the helmet. i've bought two more off of amazon since then.Great light for the money.Folks lets keep it simple. If you're anything like me you get tired of the $70-$130 headlamps that have way too much going on with them (i.e. push button seventeen times to get to normal beam, spot, flood, flash, dash, smash, focus & hocus pocus). This thing is super simple & just as bright as some of the fancy expensive ones!
